Maria Grazia, daughter of Rita and Mario, make you feel welcome to Sa Mandra.
"At Sa Mandra each room has different atmosphere. The dining room is a place that recalls the domestic activities of a typical Sardinian house. The baskets of Asphodel, the carpets, the frame, the inlaid wooden benches are traditional objects and also the witness of the ability of our craftsmen. The verandas are surrounded by wagons, plows, lathes and other tools, in memory of our agricultural origin. The fireplace room recalls the times when we gathered around the fire to cook the “pane carasau” (local bread). Here, with great patience and with gestures unchanged for centuries, in front of the cheerful fire Mario and Giuseppe cook the suckling pigs for five long hours on the spit. Finally Su Pinnettu: we want to emphasize this structure, typical of Barbagia, in honor of the time of transhumance, when shepherds were nomads and their work was much harder than today.” Maria Grazia
